Solitons in nonlinear Schrödinger equation with spatial stimulated scattering and inhomogeneous potential

Student: Zhuravlev Evgeni

Supervisor: Evgeny Gromov

Faculty: Faculty of Informatics, Mathematics, and Computer Science (HSE Nizhny Novgorod)

Educational Programme: Mathematics (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 8

Year of Graduation: 2020

The dynamics of solitons in the framework of the connected extended nonlinear Schrödinger equation taking into account pseudo-induced Raman scattering (PIRS) and spatially inhomogeneous additional potential is considered both analytically and numerically. It is shown that the displacement of the soliton wave number caused by PIRS can be compensated by its increase caused by the potential decreasing in coordinate, leading to stabilization of solitons.
