The energy sectors of Australia and Canada are characterized by an abundance of resources, and the number of major producers. While there has been numerous research on the influence of the fluctuations in world prices on the energy policies of countries, in particular Australia and Canada, the issue of the development of the energy sectors has not been studied enough. In times of major economic and political crises, world prices appear to be a serious indicator of future prospects in oil exporting countries. This research is aimed to estimate how do energy sectors develop under conditions of world prices fluctuation, and whether high and unstable oil prices can become a serious threat to the global and national economies, as well as the energy sectors.
