This study is an analysis of the impact of such a mega event as the World Cup on the socio-economic development of the state. Such a major international event as the world Cup undoubtedly has an impact on all spheres of life in the state: its culture, education, economy, political component, etc. This paper provides a detailed overview of the event itself, from its origin to the origin of sports, to the formation of the World Cup as the main sporting event on the planet. All the Championships since 1994, the year when commercial interest in the tournament became predominant, have been analyzed. In addition, the analysis is based on the results of which a possible model of the world Cup is presented for countries where the main goal of the championship is taken as a basis, and then, based on the experience of past tournaments, similar paths are identified, which the next host-country of the tournament follow. It is worth noting that football is developing, the rules are progressing, and trends are changing, which is proved to us by Qatar, which will host the championship in two years. This tournament will be the first in history in this region, at this time of year, as well as in a country that is completely independent of financial costs
