Our research topic is dedicated to the social aspects of youth employment in South Korea in the 21st century. The relevance of the research is due to the fact that after the global financial crisis in 1997 - 1998 the number of unemployed youth began to grow in a rapid way. This causes a lot of social problems in Korean society. Analysis and assessment of social aspects made it possible to approach the problem comprehensively and consider possible solutions to this problem. Moreover, an analysis of not only the political measures taken by the government but also the degree of their effectiveness, as well as their inconsistency, made it possible to determine the level of interconnection between society and state bodies in South Korea. The purpose of our study is to identify the main social factors affecting the employment of South Korean youth. Our research consists of an introduction, main part (it has three chapters), conclusion, references. The work contains 87 pages (without attachments), 78 references. In the first chapter, the legislative framework for youth employment and the measures taken by the presidential administrations from 1998 to 2020 are discussed. The second chapter analyzes the causes of unemployment and the characteristics of the labor market in South Korea. The aspects of the transformation of the self-consciousness of Korean youth and the phenomena inherent in South Korean society are also described. The third chapter is devoted to the prospects for solving the problems of South Korean youth.
