The Impact of the One Belt - One Way Initiative on Export from Russia to China

In 2013, China has introduced a pretentious and ambitious initiative in order to build a strong and reliable trade and supply chain stretching across Eurasia in the wake of the Great Silk Road. The given research aims to highlight benefits and drawbacks Russia has retrieved from the project, focusing on the shifts in the Russian export patterns. To study the articles published in Russian and foreign media, scientific works and statistical data comparative analysis will be used. The goal of the research is to reveal possible challenges and difficulties both sides may face during implementing the project, such as complicated customs formalities, the imbalance of imported and exported goods, limitations in providing secure transport corridors. There is a hope that the study may contribute to the existing knowledge of the “Belt and Road” issues and will show further export development patterns most beneficial for both parties.
