The Influence of Digitalization on the Competitive Advantages of German Economy in the XXI Century

Digitalization has recently become the very new phenomenon which led to complete transformation of the world economy in the XXI century. With the development of new complicated technologies scientists started introducing the term «Industry 4.0», which some of them interpreted as the name of the approaching 4th Industrial revolution (Schwab, 2017), though the term firstly appeared in Germany in the meaning of industrial strategy of the government. Despite the fact that Germany plays an important role in the world economy, there is little research on the influence of digitalization on German economy. To compensate for lack of research regarding this specific question we will collect data from world statistic agencies on economic position of Germany and build hypotheses on the correlation between digitalization and competitive advantages of German economy, which frame the German approach to economic assessment. Qualitative interpretation of quantitative indexes will significantly extend the understanding of modern transformation of German economy.
