Key Factors Driving Gas Spot Prices in Europe

Current study analyses factors of spot pricing of natural gas in Europe. The dynamic development of the natural gas market in Europe, the formation of an integrated market, the emergence of new hubs enhanced changes in the mechanisms of gas pricing. Moreover it transferred european market to the more mature market and created the conditions for the development of a spot gas market in Europe, which is developing under the influence of various factors. In the course of factor analysis, based on studies of natural gas pricing factors, the paper analyzes and calculates the correlation of the influence of a number of factor. The dynamics of the spot pricing of natural gas is calculated for 4 years from 2016 to 2019 using the example of the TTF market as the most progressive with the biggest spot market share in Europe.
