The architecture of the Asia-Pacific region has been transforming significantly in the recent years. Japan, which is considered a major actor in trade relations and economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific, is currently taking an active part in integration processes in the Asia-Pacific region. Therefore, scholars have become increasingly interested in Japan’s foreign economic policy. The purpose of this research is to determine the main trends in Japan's foreign economic policy in the context of integration processes in the Asia-Pacific region. In this research, we will analyse multiple sources, including including government reports, surveys by public and private institutions, quantitative data, such as international trade and investment statistics. The results of this research may be of use to policymakers of the Russian economic diplomacy since Russia is another actor in trade relations and economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific.
