Startup Market in Japan: Success Factors for the Promotion of Russian Companies

This paper examines the position of the startup ecosystem in Japan. The components that make up ecosystems such as government support, incubators and accelerators and universities are described in detail. Trends in the number of investments provided to startups in Japan are evaluated and analyzed. Then an assessment of the current situation of the startup ecosystem is given. Based on independently collected empirical data on assessing the startup ecosystem by venture capital funds, incubators and accelerators, author highlights problems for foreign companies to enter the Japanese market. Then, factors that can contribute to the success of Russian companies in entering the Japanese market are analyzed. Based on it, a detailed model is being built for Russian startups to enter the Japanese market.
