The step of supply chain formation is the most important one, especially in the oil industry, where it has an influence on the final price of the product. However, previous studies were more centred on the problems of supply chain management in the petroleum sector and its impact on cost reduction. What is more, most of the research in the field of supply chain formation is dedicated to the major oil producing countries such as Saudi Arabia, Russia, the USA, and far less to Latin American countries. That is why, in our research we provide a profound examination of supply and value chain formation in the oil sectors of Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia by using quantitative methods research and statistical data from various sources. The study will reveal the actual situation in the sphere of supply chain formation in the major oil producing countries in Latin American region.
