The Impact of Digital Transformation on the Economic Behaviour of Households in the Consumer Market

The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between digital transformation and economic behavior of households in the consumer market in Russia over the 2009 – 2018 period. The paper discusses how technologies and the intensive development of the world influenced on the structure of household expenses. A comparative analysis was conducted to determine the weight of digital transformation. Empirical analysis of consumer behavior optimization in the conditions of digitalization was performed on the basis of the Ramsey model. The impact of the interregional digital gap on consumer behavior was considered by applying the cluster analysis. Then regression models based on panel data was constructed in order to reveal statistically significant factors. The empirical findings outline substantial implications with regard to digital transformation on the economic behavior.
