Chinese economy is rapidly growing, increasing Chinese purchasing power. Today fashion in big Chinese cities enforces new trends, one of them is wine drinking culture. China has been the most potential wine market in the world. By 2016, sales of wine in the PRC have reached USD 4,58 billion, thus a vast market attracts many imported wine companies to secure their own market share in China. In this huge potential market both foreign and local wine producers are facing great challenges and high competition. At the same time, wine industry among post-Soviet states is developing extremely fast. After several lull of events in the end of twentieth century, wine producers could recover the production and new companies were established. The current production capacity is not so much, but wineries of the post-Soviet space have a great potential in the nearest future. In order to help foreign wine exporters to entrance Chinese market and to be aware of their position and status in the market, this study provides a wide analysis of Chinese wine market, revealing domestic production and imports. Then it gives on overview of wine industry in the Former Soviet Union (FSU) states. Afterwards, some marketing strategies and recommendations are put the forward to show a bright, but full of challenge way to foreign wine producers.
