Statistical Analysis of Disability Scales and Factors

According to official statistics, people with disabilities account for about 8% of the population of Russia. The aim of this study is to ensure a better understanding of the problem of disability, to analyse its extent in the Russian Federation and to identify factors affecting the number of persons with disabilities. The information base of the study was compiled by data on the regions of Russia, obtained on the resources of the Unified Interdepartmental Information and Statistical System (EMISS) and the Federal State Statistic Service. The methodological basis was the methods of correlation, regression and cluster analysis applied in the spatial sample for the regions of the Russian Federation. The study used application and statistical packages such as Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS. The structure of the work is as follows: introduction, three chapters, conclusion and annexes. The first chapter examines scientific literature and other sources to understand the phenomenon of disability. The second chapter analyses the socio-economic profile of disability in the Russian Federation according to official statistics. In the third chapter, a correlation, regression and cluster analysis of disability factors in the regions of the Russian Federation was carried out.
