According to the World Health Organization, about 800 thousand people commit suicide every year. This is equivalent to one case almost every 40 seconds. It seems that in developed countries, where the living conditions of the population are much higher, mortality from suicide should be relatively low. However, in many developed countries, this figure is quite high, despite the measures taken. The aim of this work is to study the main approaches to the study of suicides, to identify possible factors affecting the mortality rate from suicides, and to analyze the relationships on the example of a number of developed countries. For the analysis, we used classical linear regression methods, binary and ordered selection models, as well as cluster analysis and autoregressive time series models.
