to the analysis of the problem of the Egyptian short story of the 60-70s through the study of the work of one of the most prominent representative of this generation - Ibrahim Aslan. The chronological framework of the work was not chosen by chance. The entry of literature in the 60-70s into a new stage of evolution, associated with the new historical situation, entailed the need to master the diverse experience of world prose. Caused by specific historical reasons, the tragic feeling and mood led to the spread in literature of the motives of alienation, loss, loneliness, which were most often transmitted using various methods of the school of European modernism. The social content of literature has noticeably decreased, and the problems of the inner world of an alienated individual have come to the fore. Thanks to an analysis of the work of Ibrahim Aslan, we were able to show all the trends in literature and identify the problems of the stories of the 60-70s.
