This work is intended to explore the role of understanding linguistic racism in various aspects of life, including its detailed analysis of manifestation in fiction. In particular, a comparative linguistic analysis of the texts of the original and its translation into Russian is carried out to study the linguistic and artistic ways of expressing the racist phenomenon in two different cultures. The proposed perspective of the study is notable for its relevance and novelty. Numerous scientific works of different writers and researches considered racism in fiction as a component of a cultural and historical nature that arose under the influence of social stereotypes of a particular nation. In this work, the idea of linguistic and literary ways of depicting linguistic racism is developed using the example of Harper Lee's novel “To Kill a Mockingbird». In addition, the work examines intercultural adaptation and the equivalence of translation into Russian
