Death is a state that awaits everyone regardless of their status. To understand and accept it, artists from ancient times tried to comprehend it by capturing the images of death in their works. The Japanese perception of death is unique due to the combination of traditional beliefs with those that have come from the outside of the country. The analysis of contemporary art forms is necessary to determine how this perception has changed throughout history and how these changes are reflected in art.
