The genesis of feminism in Japan

This paper is dedicated to the study of the formation and development of feminism in Japan. The paper considers the change in the status of women from traditional society to the present day. Particular attention is paid to the activities of various women's associations and their impact on the empowerment of Japanese women. The work also describes the state policy on women and its effectiveness. Keywords: feminism, women’s organizations, women rights, Japanese society, gender policy.
