Semantics of Removal and Withdrawal in English

This research is devoted to semantic analysis and comparison of lexemes included in lexico-semantic groups with the meaning of "removal" and "withdrawal" in English. The purpose of this research is to select, form, and then describe, compare and analyse lexico-semantic groups with the meaning of "removal" and "withdrawal" in the English, and identify the main ways for words to acquire the meaning of "removal" and "withdrawal". The scientific novelty of the research is that it is the first time it performs semantic analysis of lexemes in lexico-semantic groups with the meaning of "removal" and "withdrawal". To achieve the goals of this research, we used the descriptive and analytical method to describe the meanings of lexemes and compile lexico-semantic groups, as well as component analysis to divide the meaning of a word into simpler schemes for a more detailed analysis of meanings. The result of this research will be the identification of the main ways for words to acquire "removal" and "withdrawal" meanings, as well as an attempt to identify the core, near, far and extreme periphery for each lexico-semantic group, depending on the frequency of hitting a lexeme in different synonymous series.
