This paper analyzes how the nonprofit sector interacts with politicians who are candidates for election of officials within the framework of the patrimonial political system. The analysis involves the selection of models for the interaction of NGOs with different groups of candidates and candidates with different groups of NGOs, using the example of the election for the post of Governor of St. Petersburg in 2019.
