This research is devoted to the review and analysis of changes in the level of institutional trust during the global economic crisis, which in the European Union is called the European debt crisis. For the analysis in this paper, we selected dates in the period from the beginning of the economic crisis in 2008 to the EU's exit from the crisis in 2013. In addition, this scientific work allows us to identify factors that influenced the level of confidence in the institutions of power in the European Union. The empirical part of the study consists of two levels of analysis: individual and national, which allows us to determine the significance of factors for determining the dependence of the level of institutional trust. Both economic, political, and factors that affect the standard of living of citizens influence the formation of a particular trust. The paper contains graphs and tables that allow us to analyze the dynamics of changes in the level of institutional trust.
