There is a believe that for a country to grow beyond its present states, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have an important role to play. They hold an indispensable position to foster substantial growth economic and social wise in a country. The business potential of a country is uncovered by SMEs as they offer new opportunities for local and international investors. Furthermore, new employment opportunities are created, and new skills and training are provided to the citizens, which results in the creation of more skilled and trained professionals in the country. The research objectives include identification of front-line challenges for SMEs, and exploration of the factors for success for the SMEs in Ghana, Nigeria, and Egypt. The research includes 20 the success factors having a direct effect on SMEs in these three countries. Moreover, seven front-line challenges for SMEs are also discusses in the research work. The data collection was carried out through collecting response through questionnaire and conducting interviews with SMEs experts in each of these countries
