Dynamics of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Development in China (1990s - 2020)

Chinese economy has being developed during more than fifty years with the application of the state planning of the national economy. Twelve plans were done during this period of time and now this is the final phase of the thirteenth one. Nowadays one of the main sector of Chinese economy is business. Small and medium-sized business (SMEs) played crucial role in the moving from agrarian country to the industrial one. The growth of the economy and the employment of the population depend on the private sector of the economy, which plays the crucial role in its development. SMEs in China create new job places, which are quite important for the development of the innovative technologies, stimulate the growth of incomes and guarantee the well-being of citizens, and as a result, increase consumer demand. The SMEs is an essential condition for the creation of the middle class — a social basis that procures the constant development of the Chinese society. Under these circumstances, the PRC leadership continued to carry out measures to regulate small and medium-sized businesses, comprehensively helped the poor population and promoted supply enterprises of new equipment and technology. The main goal of the following research to explore the dynamics of Chinese SMEs and the main aspects of enterprise policy in China in the period since 1990s till 2020 and to evaluate it in accordance with the changes in economy and policy of PRC.
