Socio-Demographic Characteristics of Shadow Entrepreneurship: the Case of Russia

The present paper contains the research of socio-demographic characteristics of shadow entrepreneurship in Russia in the period of time 2010-2018. The sample include employment observations on the The dataset analysis consists of descriptive statistics for the main variables, statistical tests for proving the statistical hypothesis and two types of models: binomial logit model and multinomial logit model. The main findings of the paper are different patterns for the portrait of the Russian shadow entrepreneur, also the logit model revealed the most significant variables among regressors, multinomial model shows these indicators in compare with other groups of employed respondents. The papers’ findings can be interesting to government structures for working with the shadow businesses. The structure of the paper as follows: the first part contains the description of the theoretical basis, then methodology is described. In the third part the research findings are given, finally some conclusions and discussion are made. Key words: shadow entrepreneurs, shadow self-employment, logit, multinomial logit, socio-demographical characteristics.
