Multilingualism as a Literary Device in W. Scott's "Waverley"

Multilingualism is one of the most interesting and rarely studied literary devices to this day. The purpose of this work is to uncover the use of multilingual-ism in Walter Scott’s novel «Waverly». The study uses qualitative research methods, a descriptive method, an associative method, content analysis, and a historical method. Interactions on the idioms of Scotland are of great importance for building the world presented in the novel Waverly.
