Japanese Foreign Policy Strategy Towards Anti-Russian Sanctions of 2014-2018

This thesis paper refers to studies of the Japanese foreign policy within studying Japanese – Russian relations. Relations between two states were known as stable, without clear future. Hence the issue of uncomplete Peace treaty still stays as an obstacle of fully cooperation between two countries. There was a big hype in media and research community during post – War period and during 2000s. However, now IR experts became more skeptic and pessimistic, so a period over 2014 till nowadays is not fully observed. This work is aimed to address the research gap in Japanese – Russian relations from 2014 to 2018, emphasizing Japanese foreign policy strategy towards anti – Russian sanctions.
