In some films, under the mask of cruelty, various abuse and screen bright violence, completely opposite values and motives can be hidden – love, charity, tolerance, denouncing and ridiculing sins and vices. This leads to the following problem: the lack of explanation of the phenomenon of symbolic violence demonstration for decoding other values of the film. The purpose of this research is to study the phenomenon of symbolic violence in thrillers, the levels of violence discourse, and ways to decode this phenomenon by the viewer. To achieve this, a theoretical analysis of literature was conducted, as well as a critical discourse analysis of four thrillers under the authorship of Tarantino And Fincher. As a result of research and study of various levels of film discourse, the rearticulation function of episodes of violence was confirmed.
