A Company Size as a Determinant of its Effectiveness in Terms of Various Sectors of Russian Economy

This study analyzes the size of the company as a factor that can affect the effectiveness of its activities, taking into account the geterogeneity of various sectors of the economy. Various aspects of this connection are considered, including both the classical impact of economies of scale and the dynamics of transaction costs. Using the regression analysis of financial reporting data from 26 thousand Russian companies representing 16 industries, the ambiguous nature of the connection between size and effectiveness indicators was confirmed.
