Accounting and Analysis of Activities of the Company in the Hospitality Business

The hospitality business in Russia is developing rapidly. Hotel enterprises often combine several types of activities at once, changes in which must be tracked in due time, which makes the accounting process quite time-consuming. The main goal of the work is to systematize accounting rules, to analyze the accounting arrangement at hotel enterprises, to carry out an analysis of financial and economic performance indicators of a hotel on the example of LLC «Vesennie investitsii», as well as to develop recommendations for improving its business activities. Therefore, the object of the research is the hotel «Ibis Nizhny Novgorod» (LLC «Vesennie investitsii») and subjects are the processes of property and restaurant activities accounting and analysis of its financial statements. The first chapter of this work contains a systematic analysis of the documents of the current legislation governing the accounting in hotels, an analysis of accounting peculiarities in the hospitality business, in particular the most specific segments of accounting. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign approaches to the analysis of the activities of hotel business enterprises, a financial analysis methodology was developed taking into account the specifics of the activity of the enterprise being studied. The second chapter examines the application of the accounting method on the example of LLC «Vesennie investitsii». Particular attention is paid to the accounting of property and restaurant activities of the hotel, as well as the formation of financial results from the hotel services provision. In the third chapter, financial analysis of the organization is carried out according to our methodology, which includes analysis of the internal and business environment of the hotel, analysis of its financial statements indicators, and indicators of the use of rooms. Thereby, having this work done, recommendations were developed to improve indicators of the organization, which can be implemented in its practical activities.
