The Language and the Symbol in the Protestant Theology of the 20th Century: Paul Tillich and Rudolf Bultmann

This investigation focuses on theological language and religious symbolism in the writings of major Protestant theologians Paul Tillich and Rudolf Bultmann. The work analyzes the philosophical and theological idiolects of these thinkers. Tillich and Bultmann's positions on the "demythologization" of Christianity are being compared. The influence of existential philosophy on the concepts of theologians is being revealed.
