Features of Urban Planning of Single-Industry Towns in the far North of Russia in Comparison with the Experience of Scandinavia Countries

The paper considers the features of urbanism of single-industry towns of the Far North of Russia and compares it with the experience of industrial cities of the Scandinavian countries. The paper uses political analysis to reflect existing trends regarding the development of the northern single-industry towns of Russia and the cities of the Scandinavian countries. In addition to a direct analysis of the current socio-economic situation of the northern single-industry towns, the paper considers the current legislation and state policy in relation to single-industry settlements. The conclusions and recommendations obtained as a result of the study represent possible areas of cooperation between the northern regions both domestically and internationally.
