Environmental mitigation mechanisms for the procurement of goods and services for municipal needs. A critical role in protecting the environment is waste management, which must be centralized and transparent. Russia lags in the issue of secondary raw materials extraction and waste management, therefore, since 2019, the “garbage reform” has taken place in the country. The paper studies information on public procurement, the object of which is services for the management of municipal solid waste. Data taken from the site of the Unified Information System in the field of procurement. About a third of Moscow purchases in the field of MSW management can be called environmentally friendly, but the national level lags behind. Key words: green public procurement, garbage reform, solid municipal waste management.
