Anthropology of Line in Text and Picture

Generation of lines is fundamental anthropological trait of human beings. T. Ingold proposes concept for analyzing all human actions, from walking to speaking and gestures, as generation of lines. In this context, processes of text and image production can be seen as almost identical, and related to human body constitution. This paper discusses issue about relation between text and image through anthropology of line. Also, an attempt is made to find positive arguments for linearization phenomena in contemporary culture.
