The current migration problem in Europe has entirely overwhelmed the European Union (EU) member states and led to an incomparable and unprecedented crisis in Europe. The Inflow of migrants into Europe through dangerous sea routes resulted in a distressing humanitarian crisis. Conflicts, socioeconomic and political instability around the world are the root causes of escalated displacement of people which pushed many irregular migrants to enter Europe. To counter this, EU officials established numerous migration policies and regulations to manage and control migrant flow and borders. However, such policy measures are heavily criticized by the researchers, NGOs, policymakers, and humanitarian officials and called upon the EU to magnify its migration policies and embrace more humanitarian approaches. So far, EU member states remain fragmented and uncertain in its response. Through this research work which aims at critical analysis of EU’s migration policy along with case studies of some frontier countries (Greece, Germany, and Hungary) we advance some new approaches and policy recommendations to curb the current migration crisis.
