Gender Inequality in Russian Labor Market

This study explains what the gender pay gap is, what causes it, and why it must be closed. An assessment was made of the gender pay gap in the Russian Federation. The pay gap was estimated and analyzed using econometric modeling. The results of the study also indicate the presence of gender segregation and discrimination in the labor market, as well as other problems. A real and permanent gender pay gap exists in almost all areas at all levels of education and at any age. This is an extremely complex network of interconnected factors. Possible causes of the situation were also identified.
