Legal Framework Of Bond Debt Restructuring

The master’s thesis covers bond restructuring legal framework aspects. In particular, it provides the author’s definition of bond restructuring in view of the lack of relevant Russian legislation on the subject. The thesis focuses on the principles that could govern bond restructuring. It describes in detail the agreements usually concluded between the bond restructuring parties. It also considers bond restructuring models, their classification accepted by the legal community, proposes the author’s classification of the models. The thesis compares bonds and loans restructuring, analyses features of bond restructuring in the local and international markets. The thesis underscores lack of due legislative bond restructuring framework in Russia, determines existing problems in this respect and proposes solving the problems by amending the Russian relevant legislation.
