The development of social relations in the field of labor poses new challenges to the industry and the science of labor law. Modern processes of development of labor relations are becoming inadequate to classical theoretical ideas about the labor market. In this regard, the application of contractual regulation of labor relations is also gaining increasing relevance. As a result of this, it seems necessary to conduct a study of the role of individual contractual regulation as a way to ensure a balance of interests of parties to labor relations, its features and trends for further development. The purpose of this study is to form an idea of individual contractual regulation as a way to ensure a balance of interests in labor law, identify problematic aspects in the framework of this activity and propose solutions to eliminate identified problems. Based on the results of the study, it was proposed to introduce certain changes into the current labor legislation regarding individual contractual regulation of labor relations, as well as to revise the approaches of courts to some issues.
