The Study and Application of the IoT Technology in Agriculture

In this dissertation, the method of developing a system using computer vision based technologies for dairy cow identification and behavior recognition is proposed. The current state of precision livestock farming industry, it’s main problems and ways of solving those were analyzed. Modern methods of animals’ health state, identification and methods of activity monitoring were also analyzed. As a result of this thesis, two different methods based on a computer vision and digital image recognition for dairy cows identification and activity detection were proposed. Among existing computer vision algorithms several were analyzed, chosen and adapted to satisfy the requirements of a proposed system.
