The Phenomenon of Art School in the Context of Postwar Unofficial Soviet Art: 'The New Reality Studio' and 'The Temporal Reality Studio'

This work is devoted to a relatively unexplored phenomenon - the school-studio "The New Reality Studio" by Ely Bielutin and the studio "The Temporal Reality Studio" by Vladislav Zubarev. Of interest is the artistic and theoretical heritage of the founders of the studios, as well as their pedagogical methods. The purpose of the study is to study the activities of the New Reality and Temporal Reality school-studios, to identify their values ​​in the context of post-war unofficial art. The subject of the study is the phenomenon of the school-studio in the context of the Soviet post-war unofficial art, the object is the theoretical and artistic heritage of the founders of the considered school studios Ely Bielutin and Vladislav Zubarev. The author attempts to study the theoretical and pedagogical programs of these artists, which became the basis of their school-studios, draws parallels with avant-garde groups represented by the workshops of Kazimir Malevich, Pavel Filonov and Mikhail Matyushin, examines the similarities and distinguishes between “The New Reality Studio” and “The Temporal Reality Studio”. Studying the theoretical program of Vladislav Zubarev, the author relies on the artist’s archive, which has not yet been published. The work consists of an introduction, three chapters, sequentially revealing a given topic, conclusions with the main conclusions, sections with illustrations and applications and a list of references.
