Priming Influence on Human's Attention in Processing Neutral Information

Manipulation of people’s minds is one of the oldest tools of power, which have become much keener and more intense in the digital 21st century. The spread of fake news and the influence of propaganda is becoming stronger with the development of media sources. The connection between propaganda impact and such media effects as priming, framing, and agenda-setting is undoubtful. This paper emphasizes on the priming effect because of the next reasons: this term is the most sufficient for describing propaganda phenomena and it is used in political science and psychology. The last claim is especially significant because it was decided to use neuroimaging methods to investigate deep individual analysis. I believe that such interdisciplinary view can give many fruitful results in political science. We used magnetoencephalography (MEG) to test the level of subjects' attention to political news under the priming effect.
