Year of Graduation: 2020

Helping is one of the mechanisms of supporting social cooperation. From a behavioral perspective, helping friends differs from helping strangers. We have adopted a neural trait approach in order to estimate neural variations that underlie costly friend- and stranger-helping behaviors. For this purpose, we have estimated resting-state EEG activity and real-life helping behavior by using experimental sampling method and behavioral laboratory task. Moreover, we have used long-range temporal correlations approach with the intention of assessing autocorrelations from the sensors related to DMPFC and calculate the correlation of these metrics with helping strangers in real life.
