The present study investigates the intergenerational value transmission of Azerbaijanis. The main research question is determining the role of the sociocultural context and ethnic status in the intergenerational transmission of values. The purpose of the study is an empirical investigation of the influence of the sociocultural context (more traditional and more modernized) and ethnic status (ethnic minority and majority) on the intergenerational transmission of values in the families of Azerbaijanis in Azerbaijan and Russia. The study involved 200 respondents (n = 200): 50 mother-child dyads of Azerbaijanis (n = 100) living in Azerbaijan (ethnic majority) and 50 mother-child dyads of Azerbaijanis (n = 100) living in Russia (ethnic minority). The PVQ-R method by Schwartz (Schwartz et al., 2012) was used as the research method. The results obtained confirmed the hypotheses. Intergenerational transmission of values of Azerbaijanis - as members of an ethnic minority - is more successful than the Azerbaijanis, as members of the ethnic majority
