The study examines the relationship between the quality of school education and the electoral support of the incumbent in the parliamentary and presidential elections in the regions of Russia. The main result is the conclusion that the level of pro-government voting in parliamentary elections grows by an average of 1% with an increase in the percentage of students who, passed the state exam with the score of at least 75 total points, by 4% when other conditions being equal. At the same time, according to the results of the cluster analysis, we can say that there are prerequisites, primarily socio-economic, which can moderate this relationship. We assume that the share of the urban population in the total population - the level of urbanization can act as a moderator of the relationship between the quality of school education and the level of pro-government voting: it may be an idea for future research, which requires local-level data.
