Relationship between Socio-Economic Tensions in Russian Regions and Finance Policy of the Federal Center

Research is focused on identifying the relationship between socio-political tensions and financial policy of the federal center in an authoritarian regime. Case of Russia is used in the analysis with the data of 85 regions varying across 3 years. Authors use such indicators of socio-political tensions as the level of protest activity, crime level in Russian regions and upcoming electoral gubernatorial campaign.
