Actual Challenges of Modern Data Analytics and the Role of Hadoop Technologies in their Solution

This study aims to establish the role of the Hadoop platform in relation to the current needs and challenges of the market for analytical tools. The author of the study considers the components of the Hadoop platform. Correlates their implementation with current market demand. Provides the advantages and disadvantages of each of the projects. Provides alternatives to solutions. Analysis of Hadoop projects in the work is built with a focus on practical tasks. In the second chapter, the author presents a major project to introduce the Hadoop platform within the framework of the Unified Information and Analytical Medical System of the city of Moscow. The chapter explores existing data storage and analysis systems. The current problems and the incoming needs of the new functionality are described in the framework of the EMIAS analytical subsystem. The author lists and segments the nature of the tasks that the team of the analytical subsystem faces. The chapter provides the rationale for choosing a tool for certain classes of tasks. The author describes the implementation of a new analytical tool with its benefits and problems. The third chapter presents the results of experiments and the operation of the tool on the Hadoop platform. The author compares the labor costs for the development of reporting forms using the current and new tools, describing the cycle of the production process. The conclusion highlights the results of comparing the work of the Hadoop platform with the classic relational database management system. The author of the study presents his vision and recommendations regarding the Hadoop platform.
