Factors that Influence the Choice of an Active Position When Discussing the Topic of Domestic Violence in the Media Environment

This work addresses the following aspects: family and domestic violence in new media, identification of significant factors influencing the victims' story of their experience as well as identification of victims' motives for choosing a certain format of speech. The general method is a literature review; the empirical part is based on an online closed survey followed by an SPSS analysis as well as an open survey. This research has identified the main factors affecting the victims' storytelling and its significance for the groups singled out by the format of statements. As a result, it was found out that both the media and communication with close people affect the victims' decision to speak out.
