The theme of this Graduation Qualification is “Democratic institutions and innovative development of firms: subnational evidence from Russia”. A study on this topic will be conducted on the basis of empirical and econometric analysis. The relevance of this work is that today there are no researches that would be devoted to study the relationship between regional democratic institutions and the innovative development of firms. This gap in research determines the purpose of this study - to identify the relationship between regional democratic institutions and innovations. The objectives of this research were to study existing domestic and foreign literature, prepare a database, and perform econometric analysis and interpret the results.
