Visa and Migration Support of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation

The legal status of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation includes one of the most important parts which is called “the migration status”. It is disclosed and regulated in various regulatory acts of migration law, but its main aspects are legal entry and exit from the Russian Federation and ensuring legal stay/residence on the territory of the Russian Federation. These requirements can be correctly implemented, provided that the visa and migration registration regulations are strictly observed. The legislative acts that establish these institutions play an important role in the implementation of the foreign citizen’s right to move within the borders allowing to him within the purpose of travel or stay; to choose the place of stay and residence; they prevent various offenses and crimes, as well as contribute to the correct assessment of the subject’s behavior in various situations, which may result in the imposition of administrative or criminal penalties. The issue of visa and migration support for foreign citizens in the Russian Federation is becoming more and more relevant every year because the analysis of this aspect reflects the imperfection and gaps in legislation.
