Business Coaching as an Activity: Prospects of Professionalization

This dissertation addresses the issue of the prospects for the professionalization of business coaching as one of the types of professional activity in Russia. The aim of the work was to identify key characteristics that affect the formation of business coaching as a profession. As part of this work, a qualitative study was conducted through in-depth interviews with representatives of business coaching in the amount of 15 people The main results of the study were that the formation of business coaching as a profession is primarily influenced by such factors as work experience in economics and business. An important factor influencing the formation of a professional business coach group is such factors as the availability of training in the implementation of the coach’s activities, extensive work experience related to the economy and business, the presence of higher education close to the activities of coaching in the business environment, as well as the demand for this service affects the formation of this group as a professional
