The problem of Islamic cultural heritage preservation has gained a significant attention at present in the light of ongoing violent conflicts. This paper intends to explore the Islamic system of cultural heritage management. This paper focuses on the specific time period: from the moment of ISESCO – Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture – creation in 1982 when the concept of founding an international institution for joint Islamic actions in the fields of education, science and culture appeared and till the events of Arab Spring in 2010.
